Jennifer Lawrence  (Passengers, mother!) stars in the action-filled international spy thriller Red Sparrow.

In the movie, Lawrence is Dominika, a former ballerina forced to enter Sparrow School, a secret government program that thrusts her into a treacherous espionage game between Russia and the CIA. She emerges trained as a lethal agent, but is trapped in a world she desperately wants to escape.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, who continues her seemingly ongoing collaboration with Jennifer having helmed the last three Hunger Games installments, Red Sparrow also features Joel Edgerton (Loving), Jeremy Irons (TV’s The Borgias), Matthias Schoenaerts (Rust and Bone), Mary-Louise Parker (TV’s Weeds), Charlotte Rampling (The Night Porter) and Joely Richardson (Anonymous) in its cast.

Red Sparrow proved to be for the birds at the domestic box office, chirping to the disappointing tune of $47 million upon wide release this past spring.
