Blu-ray Release: The Other Side of Midnight

Blu-ray Release Date: Sept. 18, 2018
Price: Blu-ray $29.95
Studio: Twilight Time

Directed by Charles Jarrott (Anne of the Thousand Days), The Other Side of Midnight (1977) is a spectacularly epic adaptation of Sidney Sheldon’s melodrama focusing on the rise of a French shopgirl, Noelle (the late, great Marie-France Pisier).

After a torrid World War II-era love affair with an American pilot, Larry (John Beck, Rollerball), leaves her abandoned and pregnant, Noelle vows revenge – which includes becoming a fashion model, an international movie star, and the mistress of a staggeringly wealthy Greek tycoon (Raf Vallone, Phaedra).

Susan Sarandon (Tammy) co-stars as Larry’s perky post-war wife, and Clu Gulager (The Killers) is thankfully around, too. The appropriately fabulous score by Michel Legrand (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) is available on this Twilight Time release as an isolated track.

Apart from the isolated music track, here’s a rundown of the  bonus features:
-Audio Commentary with Producer Frank Yablans, Director Charles Jarrott, Author Sidney Sheldon, and Film Historian Laurent Bouzereau
-Original Theatrical Trailer
