The French sports drama Final Set is written and directed by Quentin Reynaud.
Once a rising tennis prodigy, Thomas (Alex Lutz, OSS 117 Lost in Rio) struggles with disappointment and setbacks over a long and lackluster career.
In spite of his declining skills and chronic physical ailments, he is determined to play the French Open at the advanced age of 37. Although his wife Eve (Ana Girardot) and mother Judith (Kristin Scott Thomas, Darkest Hour) advise him to retire, Thomas obsessively perseveres. In the qualifiers, he goes to battle against stiff competition as well as his own demons before ultimately facing an up-and-coming star whose combination of talent and arrogance reminds him of his younger self.
