New Release: Cracks DVD

Cracks movie scene

Eva Green is an enigmantic boarding school teacher in Cracks.

Entertainment One released the 2009 thriller Cracks, based on the 1999 novel by Sheila Kohler and starring the beautiful Eva Green (Camelot), on DVD on July 19, 2011, for the list price of $24.98.

Directed by first-time feature helmer Jordan Scott — daughter of filmmaker Ridley Scott (Robin Hood), who serves as a producer along with his brother Tony Scott (Unstoppable) — Cracks focuses on the lives of a group of girls at an elite British boarding school in the 1930s.

The girls all idolize their enigmatic swimming instructor and teacher Miss G (Green), who enjoys all the attention until the arrival of Fiamma (Maria Valverde, The Anarchist’s Wife), a wild and self-confident transfer student from Spain. The seductive Fiamma quickly becomes the teacher’s pet, which ignites the jealousy of fellow classmate Di (Juno Temple, Greenberg) and triggers an obsession in Miss G that quickly spirals out of control.

Imogen Poots (Jane Eyre) and Sinead Cusack (Eastern Promises) co-star in the movie, which received a limited release in theaters in England and the U.S. over the past year, as it rolled out to a number of international film festivals.

No special features are on the DVD.
