From filmmaker Cameron Crowe (We Bought a Zoo), comes his latest romantic comedy, 2015’s Aloha, starring Bradley Cooper (American Sniper), Emma Stone (Magic in the Moonlight), and Rachel McAdams (About Time).

The film revolves around a once-admired pilot, Brian Gilcrist (Cooper), who returns to Hawaii for a military contract job and is assigned to work with a young US Air Force pilot (Stone). Enter Tracy Woodside (McAdams), an old flame, who reconnects with Gilcrist, creating a love triangle that forces Gilcrest to examine what truly makes him happy.

The ensemble cast also includes Bill Murray (St. Vincent), John Krasinski (Promised Land), Danny McBride (TV’s Eastbound & Down) and Alec Baldwin (Still Alice).

The Aloha release is loaded with special features including a cast gag reel and “The Untitled Hawaii Project: The Making of Aloha.” This feature length documentary, narrated by Cameron Crowe, covers the entire filmmaking process, while uncovering amazing stories and heartfelt moments along the way. Featuring intimate b-roll, candid interviews and unforgettable moments, this documentary captures the vibe of the movie perfectly. Exclusive to the Blu-ray are deleted scenes, the original opening to the film, an alternate ending, extensive photo gallery with commentary by Stills Photographer Neal Preston and commentary from Writer/Director Cameron Crowe. Also included are four all-new featurettes: “The Awe of Space,” “Ledward Kaapana: Music Is Everything,” “Uncle Bumpy” and “Mitchell’s Film.”

Aloha has proven to be one of the major bombs of the year, earning a terrible $21 million at the domestic box office during its wide theatrical release in late May, 2015. And don’t even ask what the critics thought of it…

Still, with that cast and that filmmaker, there’s got to be something going on here…
