New Release: Solitary Man DVD and Blu-ray

A critical favorite during its theatrical run, the comedy/drama movie Solitary Man is a candid portrait of a man whose winning ability to draw people in might also cause him to lose everything and everyone he cares about. The film came out on DVD and Blu-ray from Anchor Bay Entertainment on Sept. 7, 2010, priced at $29.98 and $39.99, respectively.

The independent film stars Michael Douglas (Traffic) as Ben Lalmen, a disgraced former used car magnate who once had a thriving career, a
beautiful family and a luxury apartment in the heart of Manhattan. But the same irresistible charm that got him to the top is also the cause of his downfall.

The movie also stars Mary-Louise Parker (TV’s Weeds), Jenna Fischer (TV’s The Office), Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland), Imogen Poots (28 Days Later), Susan Sarandon (The Lovely Bones) and Douglas’s old pal Danny DeVito (TV’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).

Bonus materials include an audio commentary with writer/director Brian Koppelman, director David Levien and actor Doug McGrath and a behind-the-scenes featurette.

The film grossed $2.9 million in limited theatr
