New Release: Scrubs and FlashForward DVD

Scrubs TV show scene with Donald Faison and Zach BraffThe entire series of both veteran sitcom Scrubs and newbie TV drama FlashForward were delivered to DVD on Sept. 28, 2010, and Aug. 31, 2010, respectively, from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

Scrubs arrived on DVD on in a Complete Ninth and Final Season set, priced at $29.99, and a Complete Collection set, priced at $149.99.

The two-DVD Scrubs: The Complete Ninth and Final Season set includes these special features:

  • deleted scenes with introductions and explanations from show creator Bill Lawrence
  • bloopers
  • “Scrubbing In” featurette, which allows users to meet the newcomers to season nine, along with insights from Lawrence and veteran actors Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke
  • and “Live From the Golf Cart.”

Scrubs: The Complete Collection DVD boxScrubs: The Complete Collection is a 26-disc set packaged with an x-ray/lenticular cover of the cast. It includes a bonus disc and these collectibles:

  • Official Sacred Heart Hospital ID badge
  • and a photo booth strip of cast.

The bonus disc features “The Todd’s High Five Scrubs Trivia Challenge,” which allows viewers to answer questions correctly to unlock additional bonuses.

The ABC comedy also stars Donald Faison, John C. McGinley and Eliza Coupe.

Cancelled after its first season, ABC’s FlashForward: The Complete Series DVD is a five-disc set priced at $59.99. It includes all 22 episodes of the science-fiction TV show, which stars Joseph Fiennes (The Red Baron) and Dominic Monaghan (TV’s Lost).

The DVD is loaded with these special features:

  • blooper reel
  • deleted scenes

  • FlashForward On Set” a five-part inside look at the show, including The Blue Hand Club, on location at MacArthur Park, Courtney Vance’s bathroom scene, the car chase and makeup and special effects at the hospital
  • “Kangaroo?”
  • “Interviews From the Mosaic Collective” from Tokyo, Japan; London, England; Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Los Angeles
  • “Creating a Catastrophe: The Effects of a Global Blackout” behind-the-scenes featurette about the pilot’s freeway disaster scene
  • and “Could,” a look at the second half of FlashForward narrated by Monaghan.
