New Release: Man in a Suitcase DVD

Richard Bradford is the Man in a Suitcase.

Acorn Media released the first 15 episodes from the 1960s television spy series Man in a Suitcase on DVD on Jan. 25, 2011. Set 1, a four-disc collection, carries a suggested retail price of $59.99.

In the vein of such venerable espionage-drenched TV hits as Secret Agent, Danger Man and The Prisoner, the stylish, action-filled 1967 Man in a Suitcase stars Richard Bradford (The Untouchables) as “Mac” McGill, a cynical yet honest spy who has been disavowed by his American bosses and is on the run from a host of international enemies.

The classic TV show features such guest stars as Donald Sutherland (M*A*S*H), James Grout (TV’s Inspector Morse), Nicola Pagett (TV’s Upstairs, Downstairs), Anton Rodgers (TV’s Murder Most English: A Flaxborough Chronicle), Peter Vaughan (The Remains of the Day) and Judy Geeson (TV’s Mad About You).

The British TV show received considerable exposure in the U.S. when it was broadcast on ABC in 1968.

No bonus features are in the DVD set.
