New Release: One Way to Valhalla DVD

One Way to Valhalla movie scene

Kim Dickens (l.) and Kate Walsh pout and pose in One Way to Valhalla.

One Way to Valhalla, the 2009 independent drama starring Kate Walsh (TV’s Private Practice), Gabriel Macht (Middle Men) and Kim Dickens (TV’s Treme), arrived on DVD on April 26, 2011, from Monarch Home Video.

The movie follows working class gearhead Bo Durant (Macht) who is obsessed with his prized 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. Recently released from home detention, Bo’s alcohol-fueled joy ride lands the car in impound. After several humiliating attempts to get it back, Bo is forced to ride a bicycle to work.

On the way home, he has an accident. As he recovers, his personality takes some strange turns. Neither his wife Jenny (Dickens) nor his friends Raina (Walsh) and Glenn (Brad William Henke, TV’s Justified) can relate to him anymore — nobody except his stepdaughter Dale (Alison Pill, TV’s The Pillars of the Earth), who believes that Bo has experienced an “awakening”. Her desire to shield him from the cruel realities of the world has its own absurd and near disastrous consequences.

Written and directed by Karen Goodman (The Skin Horse), the unrated One Way to Valhalla was first seen at the Hollywood Film Festival in 2009 and essentially premiered on DVD.

No bonus features are on the DVD, which is priced at $24.95.
