Treasure IslandComedian Eddie Izzard (Every Day) takes on the role of the notorious Long John Silver in the British mini-series Treasure Island.

The latest in a long line of adaptations of Robert Louis Stevenson‘s classic novel, the television show aired on Syfy in May 2012.

In the adventure mini-series, young Jim Hawkins (Tony Rebo, One Day) finds a treasure map and commissions a ship and crew, including the mysterious Long John Silver, to follow it and find the buried riches. After they set sail, Jim learns that his friends Squire (Rupert Penry-Jones, Red Tails) and Dr. Livesey (Daniel Mays, Made in Dagenham) have their own secret intentions and the crew is planning to mutiny over the ship’s captain.

The mini-series also stars Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games) and Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings).
