Clouds of Sils Maria was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, won the International Cinephile Society Cannes Awards for Best Actress (Binoche) and Best Screenplay (Assayas), and won the Prix Louis Delluc award for Best Film. Additionally, Stewart’s performance earned her France’s coveted César Award for Best Supporting Actress, making her the first American to win the prize.
The film was released theatrically in the U.S. on a limited basis in April, where it was received positively by critics. It garnered a 7.6/10 rating at Rotten Tomatoes based on 132 published reviews.
