Tom Hanks (Bridge of Spies) returns as renowned symbologist Robert Langdon in the contemporary action thriller Inferno, the third entry in the series of film based on the best-selling novels by author Dan Brown. The first two, as if you need us to tell you, were  The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons.

Like the first two flicks, this latest one was directed by Ron Howard (Rush).

Inferno1This time ‘round, Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia and finds himself the target of a manhunt. Teaming up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones, The Theory of Everything), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories, the two race across Europe and against the clock to stop a virus that would wipe out half of the world’s population.

The film also stars Irrfan Khan (Jurassic World), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Ben Foster (Hell or High Water) and Sidse Babett Knudsen (TV’s Westworld).

Loathed by the critics, Inferno didn’t kick as much ass as its predecessors, ringing up only $34 million at the domestic box office. (Meanwhile it cashed in to the tune of nearly $200 million around the world).

The Blu-ray, DVD and digital releases are loaded with bonus content, including deleted scenes and six behind-the-scenes featurettes.
