Jessica Chastain (The Help) gives a Golden Globe-nominated performance in the 2016 drama-thriller Miss Sloane, which is set in the high-stakes world of American politics.

Elizabeth Sloane (Chastain), a ruthless and highly successful political strategist, exposes the cutthroat world of D.C. lobbyists working on both sides of the gun debate. New legislation requiring more stringent background checks for gun purchases is gaining traction in the Senate, and Sloane is approached to spearhead the campaign, pitting her against formidable and powerful political opponents. Deploying her notorious skills and driven by a desire to win at all costs – she jeopardizes those closest to her, and puts her own career at risk.

Directed by John Madden (The Debt), the film also stars Mark Strong (Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy), Alison Pill (Midnight in Paris), Michael Stuhlbarg (Blue Jasmine) and John Lithgow (Rise of the Planet of the Apes).

The R-rated film received an okay 70% Fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes based on 132 published reviews, most of them praising Ms. Chastain’s performance.

Miss Sloane will have a lone bonus features, the featurette “Lobbying: Winning By Any Means.”
