From Richard Fleischer, the director of The Vikings and The New Centurions, comes the 1977 swashbuckling adventure-comedy Crossed Swords starring Oliver Reed (The Brood), Raquel Welch (One Million Years B.C.), Ernest Borgnine (Emperor of the North), George C. Scott (Hardcore), Rex Harrison (Doctor Dolittle), Charlton Heston (Khartoum) and Sybil Danning (They’re Playing with Fire).

In this freewheeling action film-styled adaptation of Mark Twain’s classic The Prince and the Pauper, Tom (Mark Lester), a poor commoner, accidentally meets Edward, Prince of Wales (also Lester), and they are struck by their similarity of appearance. After switching clothes as a practical joke, they are unexpectedly separated and forced to take on the other’s life. Everything goes completely haywire when the King suddenly dies, leaving Tom to inherit the throne while Edward must convince the people that he is really the new King of England.
