Shuffled into the unforgiving bureaucracy of a men’s shelter, George seems destined to wind up as just another lost soul swallowed up by the system – until he meets a gregarious, down-and-out ex-jazzman (Ben Vereen, All That Jazz), who inspires George to reconnect with his estranged daughter (Jena Malone, The Hunger Games).

Written and directed by Oren Moverman (The Messenger, Rampart), the unrated drama won the FIPRESCI International Critics Award at the Toronto International Film Festival this past year.

Though it made its mark with Stateside critics—it received a 73% positive rating at Rotten Tomatoes based on 47 published reviews—Time Out of Mind didn’t make much noise at the box office, earning only $164,00 during its limited run in theaters in September.
